We ride it once in a great while when we just want to take our time and toodle along, as well as the night rides sponsored by Century.
FYI, it's the Ohio & Erie canal, not to be confused with the Erie canal.

my bad. your right i should have called it that. thanks for setting it straight. :thumb:
What sections do you ride between? I rode it a lot last year, not as much this year. I have been riding a lot on the Summit Hike & Bike Trail. It crosses more rodes but is completely paved. I start off at Bedford Reservation and ride it until I feel like turning around.

i usually ride down to the Harvard Ave entrance to the towpath and then ride till i feel like turning around... a few weeks ago i rode all the way to Peninsula and back. it was a 46 mile ride and man did it feel good. :thumb: but most times i will ride to the canal visitor center and back home... thats a 20 mile round trip for me. i really like the towpath and everyone you encounter is really nice... just today i was talking to a man that was fishing, it was cool. and i got schooled by some dude on vintage 10 speed!
bikes are fun. :)

The Cuyahoga County Planning Commission has an excellent web-page on the North part of the Towpath.

I'm not sure just how they did the maps but they are super.
I some times inline skate from Harvard Ave. to Rockside Road.
