So I'm thinking of taking up cycling this summer to keep in shape and I was recommended to get this bike:

http://www.performancebike.com/shop/Profile.cfm?SKU=25077&item=30-0644&slitrk=search&slisearch=true

But I saw this bike on the same website and thought it might be a better bike to exercise/commute with:

Thats the max amount of money I can spend on a bike right now. What do you guys think? Any pros/cons on either bike?

They're not very similar. If you're going to ride uphill, go with the ZuM. On the other hand, if that's the max you can spend, you won't have the rack and fenders which the other bike gives you.

Yeah I live in the country so theres a lot of hills. I'm 6'0" so should I go with L? I'm guessing XL would be too big?

Do you live near a bike shop where you could actually ride some bikes. S, M, L, XL means almost nothing. It's hard to say a bike will fit until you ride it.

With lots of hills, you might want something with a triple chainring, although that bumps the price and the potential mechanical problems.

The coffee shop bike is just that. It's not a fitness tool. The GT is.
