Has any one encountered any problem with installing the new duara ace 7800 brakeset with any of the trek carbon frames.I ghave a trek 5500 frame/fork. I just got my new duara ace 7800 brake set and tried to install it today but unfortunately the lentgth of the bolts for the front and rear brakes were short. I can't even get the nut to touch the end of the bolt. So far, i never heard anything about shimano mentioning any specific frame or fork that won't be applicable. Any answers out there?

Are you replacing a set of brake calipers? If so, see if the brake nuts from those work. If not, head down to your local bike shop and see if they have any longer recessed brake nuts. I've had to get a couple of these over the years - once when I swapped components over to a new frameset and once when I replaced a fork.

Gonzo, i'm building my bike with the trek 5500 frame/fork. I'll go and check if my LBS has a longer recessed nuts. Never thought about that and first of all i didn't even know there are different size lenght with the nuts. Thanks for the helpful advice.

You need a longer female bolt. Frame should have come with it.

Hi guys. finally went to a high end bike shop and was able to find the longer recessed nut that you were talking about and should be able to install the brakes tonight. Thanks a lot to those who helped out.
