I started getting a 2007 (i believe) Scott SUB 20. I got it super cheap it was the last floor model they had in the store. Bike stripped down and rebuilt with :
Frame SUB 20, aluminum
Fork Carbon identical to the winwood, probably it is a winwood with front disc IS adapters
Wheels Cane creek stratos DISC.
Brakes, AVID BB7 road DISC.
Handlebar TOKEN Full Carbon (cant remember the model)
Headset, Cane creek Semi integrated, the usual stuff.
Stem, Deda 100 mms.
Tires, Vittoria randoneur (fast stuff)
Crankset: CAMPAGNOLO CHORUS CARBON 172.5 Compact 48/36
BB: Token 68x102 Sealed with a carbon shell (this is good stuff)
RD: I have right now a shimano MTB one, it will be swapped for a 105 with a shiftmate unless i find one campy very very cheap somewhere (read notes later)
FD: Campagnolo chorus FB CT.
Brake lever/shifters: TO the left i have a campagnolo veloce flat bar 2/3. To the right I have a shimano alivio 8sp.
*** The right campy lever broke the same day i installed it, for some reason the racheting mechanism broke, I'm waiting now ot see what campy says about it. What I noticed is that the 2005 model and the 2006/7/8 models are different, big upgrades between the 2005 and 2006.7.8 models. So my advice is be sure to get at least the 2006 ones.
*** Look at the detail in the FD, I have to built an adapter for the FD. The sub 20 FD cable is comming from above and the campy requires a cable carried by the bottom of the bike/bb. bottom pulled FD. the other detail because i had to built/fix the clamp was because the SUB models the seat tube is not rounded all the way up so the clamp was just fixed in the non rounded part of the tube, the idea is to put the clamp lower than the FD. Well the picture shows what I did.
Thanks :)

Well which fenders do you recommend? I'm a rodie, no clue about the stuff commuter people use :)

Kraftweiner Carbon Fibre Aerofenders, you cannot afford.

Isn't that putting the cart before the horse, so to speak? ;)
Nice looking ride with some nice parts.
Does the bike have braze-ons for racks and fenders?
What are your plans for carrying stuff? Rack/panniers? Mess Bag?

Honestly, maybe :). But i really have no much of an idea of what is in the market for commuters. This is my 1st city/sightseen/gooutandhavefun bike since i was 14 y/o maybe.
The main reason i got the bike was because i needed something to pull my babies (i have a charriot cart i got 50% off) The second reason and probably the main one is because the only way to go out riding is if i take my kids riding w/me so probalby i wont ride my road bike in a while. So i decided to take all the parts off and put something better like those campy cranks for example.
So far the SUB line have no fenders at all, but u can add them as racks also. Since i'll be pulling a charriot i dont need racks because i can put a lot of stuff in the car thing. But all of that can be added easily. What i need to get are cable stops to get rid off of those ties. I know where ot get them so is a thing of time now. :)
THanks

Ok, I was just joshing you, there are no "aerofenders"
The SUB is a hybrid line? Then it probably has clearance for fenders. SKS and Planet Bike make good fenders.

:) Rides fine, the frame is super stiff but relaxed at least for me, u can manouver fast too, im happy with it, liked better than the bad buuy , besides i got the whole bike for a half to the price so why complain?
Actually is a mix of shimano parts and campagnolo. It rides 300% better than with the original components.
The rear disc barely fit, wonder if the shimano caliper is smaller, probably it is. The fit it is more than tight with the avids.
THanks!
The darn wheels are FAST! Im amazed. Probably are the tires but darn... those cane creek rocks! I would like to get a road edition formy road bike.
