I hate to do the whole 'sizing' thing on here, but I don't really have a choice.
I'm looking to get a new bike here. It's going to be a cheap, entry-level bike. I've narrowed down the search to the Mercier Kilo TT and the Windsor Hour (of course... right?). I'm leaning toward the Windsor because I know it's exactly like the Fuji Track, which I understand is a very popular bike. How does the Mercier stack up?
I've taken some measurements of my body and input them into the CompetitiveCyclist.com calculator, but I wasn't 100% sure if the numbers they gave me would work on a Track bike. I figured the numbers were more for a road bike more than a track bike.
I would love to go to my LBS and try a Fuji Track out, but nobody in this town is a dealer... :( So, I turn to you kind folks.
Now, I know some of you might be saying, "Well, there aren't any velodromes in Las Vegas, so why is he asking here?" Well, I've always been fascinated with track cycling and with some serious talk going on around town about a 'drome coming here, I'm really looking forward to getting into the sport rather than just watching.
If I end up not liking the sport from a racers' point of view, then I will have a nice bike to replace my current commuter with (really heavy, clunky MTN bike). I've been meaning to get something better suited for the road anyway.
My measurements (in inches):
Inseam: 32.5
Trunk: 26
Forearm: 13
Arm: 26
Thigh: 24
Lower Leg: 22
Sternal Notch: 56
Total Body Height: 69
And, the numbers from CompetitiveCyclist:
Seat tube range c-c: 53.5 - 54.0
Seat tube range c-t: 55.1 - 55.6
Top tube length: 54.5 - 54.9
Stem Length: 11.2 - 11.8
BB-Saddle Position: 73.9 - 75.9
Saddle-Handlebar: 52.9 - 53.5
Saddle Setback: 4.6 - 5.0
Seatpost Type: NON-SETBACK
Well, there it is guys. I'd really appreciate any, and all, help that might be given. Thank you in advance.
