Have no problem posting a photo, with one exception.

How does one shrink the photo to fit the page? Mine always come out so large that I have to scroll back and forth across the screen to see the entire bike. Much better to view on one screen.

I use photo shop to set the image width to about 700 pixels. That seems to fit on the page nicely. I'm sure most photo editing software has the same feature. I usually crop the picture and adjust the brightness and contrast too.

If you do not have an image editor on your machine you can e-mail the image to me and I will shrink it for you.

Set your pixels to 640x840 i believe. If you use around the 1k plus pixels, it comes out too large for the screen. Although using a higher pixel has a more defined picture but when it comes to internet use, all you need is a smaller pixel size.

Here are some general guidelines for posting pictures on any forum (and I do a lot of this :D ).

- maximum dimension on the long side: 800 pixels try for 600-700 ish though

- maximum file size 100k (there is no reason to post a JPG that is larger when the goal is screen viewing)

- try for a file size between 50k and 100k

- if you must make a larger image available then post a small version in the thread with a URL to the larger

- if you post more than a few images or you want to post a large image then warn off the 56K users in the subject line like this:

Subject: Pictures of my cat (56K warning)
or
Subject: My new bike (56K, no way) :D



Look at my posting at the bottom of this page:

that is the absolute maximum (in term of # of pictures, file size and dimensions) that I would post in a forum without a warning to other users.
