Electric Bikes - Peerless Cyclone with No speed control

Hi anyone please help. I bought 2 brand new Peerless Cyclone Mountain bikes at an auction, for a really good price but although the battery packs are fully charged, I realized that there was no motor speed control on the handle bars, I have tried contacting the China Factory but they won't reply to my emails, I know where the speed control should connect to the motor control PCB, and I presume it will be a variable resistor or potentiometer that alters the motor speed but I don't know what ohmic value to use, I can coble together a thumb lever control but without the ohmic value, I am at a loss, can anyone help ? Otherwise I have 2 heavy pedal bikes!!

I am sorry that I don't have an answer. But I too have bought second hand a Peerless Cyclone.
I got it cheap, for a reason. It had not been assembled properly, the speed control side was on the left hand and was of course upside down. The guy I bought it from was too small for the bike, and as he never had any electric bike experience he didnt have a clue. At the moment I have corrected the brakes and speed control to their proper places. I knew that the speed wasnt constant, on for a bit and then off.
When I picked up the bike,that is how I expected it to be....hallelula the next day I took it for a test, and it cruised beautifully. I took it on a four mile run and it was great. On the was back I hit a bump, and from then on lost power. I thought it was the battery stud connections and yesterday took out the studs and receivers and hard wired it to the controller, just to check it wasnt the connections....it wasn't.
So in general I don't think that the assembly and quality of these machines (made in China...clue!)is quite what it should be, and I believe that they are not exactly cheap.
So basically I have now a collection of 5 various bikes and they all have good points and bad points.
So an accumulated knowledge has its advantages. I have a friend who is a bit with electric stuff so I will show him your question and see what he says and get back to you.
I also have a trailer full of gardening equipment, which I find affords a little more room and respect on the Friday night murdering traffic. c u Mikedebike

Hi, are you talking about cycles or are they bikes like motor bikes?? cause I am planning to buy their mountain bikes which are 18 geared cycle.. so any feedback from you will be helpful.. thanks..

Hi Sorry to hear about your loss of power but it may be the internals on the battery pack that have broken a loose wire!! you may want to replace the Blue batteries (Normal NiCad) for green Lithium batteries at the same time, I found the soldering very suspect on most of the wiring, I managed to solve the no power control by soldering a 10k pot on the three terminals located on the controller PCB

Howdy, these are electric bicycles driven with a motor in the wheel and powered by batteries. There are electric mountain bikes with powerful motors (1000 watts) but the price is also quite powerful. I have four electric bikes, all different and a trailer.
