Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Will we have much headwind on the way back, or will the hills and ins-and-outs negate most of it?
Be prepared to bundle up, folks. I was out on Highway 1 today, between Pacifica and Santa Cruz, starting at about 10 or 11 o'clock, and the area was cold (I'd say "cool", but I'm fairly cold-resistant, so here's a grain of salt for each of you) and covered with a thick blanket of fog until at least noon or one.
That said, once the fog burned off, the temperatures were very pleasant.
andrea and I are in with buidlrunbike's backup tandem.
(i didn't weigh the parts,sorry. ;) )
See you there.
I'm going to order some Brawndo.. just to bring to BF rides now.

Some of each. There are some exposed sections, some sheltered. But it'll give you incentive to stay with the paceline :D.

It will be welcome relief from the heat in Livermore. We went for a short 30 mile ride on the tandem this afternoon and we both were fried by the time we got home. It was only in the mid to high nineties but the lack of wind made it feel much warmer.
You reckon a windproof and arm warmers will be required for tomorrow ? I am still trying to figure out which bike to use never mind what to wear :)

No wind? Really? I just did 20 miles in San Ramon at about 3-4pm, and we had a pretty good wind blowing here. Still pretty hot, though. :)

I expect lots of pictures for this ride. Maybe a live video stream? Hey Pete, get me some up to date twitter reports on the ride. I know you have it ... share!

But you're bringing Cathy. So you get partial credit by association ;)
On the flip side... Cathy is guilty by association in regards to Taxi antics.

Alan, I should have asked if you had DSL or Cable Modem connection. Then, at least I could have just hung out at your house, with laptop ready at hand, just in case a call came in. Oh well.

Unfortunately, I can't. I wouldn't be within the 20 minute radius rule upon being on a networked PC. I should have thought of that earlier, and possibly stay overnight. One lost opportunity.
