Triathlon - EnduraSport Triathlon this weekend?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Anyone doing the Harryman in Harriman state park (just outside NYC) this saturday?

My fiance and I are doing the olympic and our friend anna iron girl is doing the half-iron distance.

Look for me there: slow swim, fair bike and quick run (hopefully!)
I've worked on my swim a lot from last year so hopefully that can be bumped to fair too :-)

I did this race last year and I have to send out props to Genesis Adventure and the EnduraSport Tri. It was a great time!

HA! well, you all missed out! It was an awesome event and perfect sunny weather (last year it rained and was cold). The swim was choppy, and I have once again realized I just have no friggin idea how to do an open water swim. Pools I'm ok at, open water, I might as well just do the back stroke the whole way... I REALLY need to work on breathing.
I knocked off some time from my T1 and T2 this year though, so I was happy. I was also several minutes faster on the bike, though despite better shape this year, I was around 1:30 min slower on the run although I FELT much stronger. It took me until mile one (of 10K) to get my running legs and then it was fun.

The hill was HARD. As they put it: "The bike course is a difficult 14-mile loop course with 1,500 total feet of elevation gain/loss per lap." and man you feel that climb (most of it is in one hill that stretches about a mile or so). I went from 19.5 mph ave to 16.0 after the hill (and I was not passed, it was just a 5mph hill!)
Anyway, can't wait till next year but in the mean time, I want to find a nice, flat olympic distance!
