My mountain bike has been my main mode of transportation for the last couple years, but I just upgraded and now it's too nice to leave locked up around town, so I'm going to go fixed...but I'm a total noob.
I've been looking on ebay at wheelsets and I'm not really sure what the real differences are between wheels like "VELOCITY DEEP-V TRACK FIXED GEAR WHEELSET" that sell for $250 and "BLUE WEINMANN DEEP-V TRACK FIXED GEAR WHEELS WHEELSET" that sell for closer to $150.
We've got a Peugot that I know is worth converting and I'm willing to put a little money into that one (for a friend).
Also, I've got a Schwinn Suburban with horizontal tabs that I want to convert (gears and brakes are a pain in the ass right now), but are there reasons why I shouldn't? Why it wouldn't be worth it? I never see any similar Schwinns converted.
