I did a search but didn't see any threads about this hub in touring. Anyone do any touring with a NuVinci CVP hub? I understand it's a little heavier than other internal hubs, but also read that it's a solid hub. I checked out video and it has peaked my interest .

Btw, Harris Cyclery is now selling them.

They're very new, and tourers rarely go for the bleeding edge of technology. ;)

My feeling about the Nuvinci is that it's a solution in search of a problem, and a slightly inefficient one at that. Since the gearing range is no wider than other IH options (as best I can tell), I don't see the merit in it -- particularly given the weight, the newness, the "twist shifter only" aspect, and the inevitable issues with field repairs.
