Went for a ride today through a nearby forest. It was marvellous, this is the life!! :D
Disturbed a deer grazing at the side of the path. It very obligingly stood just long enough for us to get a photo...

Hubby saw a fox running across our path. I didn't, as I'm not yet at the stage of looking too far ahead of me! And it was way too fast to photograph!
Don't know how far we went - probably only around 6 or 7 miles maybe - but still a fair distance for me! I do feel myself gaining confidence and (a little) ability each outing we have and am enjoying it so much more than I imagined I would.
Here's our bikes at the start of the trail.

Let's hope it's not raining tomorrow...

Great!
It looks like you are doing some hills too.
Ride for pleasure! That's what it's all about! The other benefits are icing on the cake.
Beautiful! I plan to do some riding in the Smoky Mountains in about 3 weeks.

Wait til you are riding and a deer or two decide to trot along with you. It's pretty cool until they realize you're a human and not a funny looking deer. ;)

I saw an enormous raccoon holding onto a tree trunk upside down in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Trust me, when you cycle around the corner and there is a city born and bred, and upside down raccoon hanging off a tree trunk, you ride by quickly.
No deers unfortunately. I'm planning a trip to a park downtown near the lakeshore that's rumoured to have coyotes. Could be one way to get me to pedal faster.

Which park is that? One really nice area that is by the lake shore is Tommy Thompson (AKA the Leslie St Spit). For those that don't know Toronto, back when they built this:

They had a lot of dirt and debris to get rid of, so being the environmentally unfriendly people of the mid 20th century, they simply dumped it into Lake Ontario, nature of course, simply took it over, and it looks mostly like this:

Yeah, those are bikes on the road, and there is a lighthouse at the end, after my last trip there, I vowed to go back. I do need to find a better way to store the camera on the bike, wrapped in a jacket in a pannier doesn't always work well for photos. I'm often too lazy to dig the camera out, I really need a bar bag, to put the camera in.

It's off the Martin Goodman, I am planning a C&A Toronto ride for June, and that might be a good destination for it..... I'm thinking June, because this May weather is THE PITS, and it doesn't look like it's going to get much better......

May's weather is never pleasant. Oh sure, it's sunny outside, but cold. I think I'm allergic to cold. At least it's only 14 more days until June.
I haven't ridden the Martin Goodman -- but it's on my list.
