so, right now i'm living in the on campus apartments. i'm about to move to a top floor one because i like being able to sleep and that involves not listening people stomping and whatnot. also, there's this thing where the management seems to think i'm rich and wants to charge me $630 a month for this one bedroom of about 500sq feet i'm to move into. the other problem is that my current apartment would be $580 a month and that's about as cheap as it gets here for a single occupancy space (maybe $540 a month if you find an efficiency... which ain't gonna happen).

so, are there any good nearby apartment complexes (within 3 miles) of this place? i would rather it be on the DART bus line in case i have to endure a stormy day. i'd really like to pass this lease onto someone else.

i'm looking online and it seems other places charge min. $700 a month for a 1 bedroom? i could buy a house for that! is that accurate (exculding my own place)?

Heh, didn't MERTON go there Foosters?

Anyways, I'm not sure. All I know is that it's close to Richardson Bike Mart. I think Jsharr would know.

When the wife and I were looking for apartments, it seemed they were all around 700 plus. You could make a house payment for that, but you also have to figure in the cost of property taxes and insurance, which can add hundreds per month.

I will be glad to do some looking, or even drive you to look at places if you do not have a car. PM if you need some help. I live about 2 miles from campus.

if they really are all 700 plus there's no point. but thanks. :)

it seems like i found some in the $500's but they looked to be about 7 miles or so away. they were south of beltline.

I am not sure of price on one bedrooms, as we were looking at places with at least two bedrooms. The offer stands if you need a ride to check some places out.

I replied to your thread in the Texas Regional forum on this same topic. Good luck with the search. :)
