Hey there. How is the climb up Big T? Anybody know the average gradient? I was planning to head to carbon canyon but brush fires have changed that. I plan to start in monrovia take foothill to mt. gleason then big T to AC and back home. Any suggestions/warnings/advice. Thanks.

Sounds like a great ride. Not sure of the average gradient but imagine it's no more than 5%. Start early as there is little cover from the sun. The climb is pretty consistent and traffic is low on Big Tujunga. Good water stop/rest area at the Clear Creek information center located at the Angeles Forest/Angelest Crest "T".
If you're planning to attack upper Big T too, there's a small store to fuel up after the tunnel

Some of Big T is more than 5%. It's a 9 mile climb, crappy road at the bottom, but it gets much better once the actual climb starts. It's about 4 or 5 miles from the top of Big T over to AC. Be careful on the descent, could be traffic there.
