Mountain Biking - Trasnporting a Brodie

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am about to buy a Brodie Fury with shimano Hydraulic brakes. my question is because brodie routes the brake and gear cables on the bottom of the top tube can these bikes be carried on a trunk mounted rack, or will I need to buy a roof mounted carrier?
Thanks

How about a $2.50 solution instead?
Get some clear vinyl Renfrew hockey tape (cheap alternative to Frame Saver bike tape) and put a strip in between the frame and the bare cable to prevent cable rub. It will be virtually invisible from a couple of feet away.
Then go to the hardware store and get some dense foam neoprene sleeves in the plumbing department (costs less than 50 cents for a two foot piece), cut to the length of your top tube, and use it as an inexpensive frame pad when transporting the bike. You could always buy a real frame pad from Roach or Lizard Skins if you have money to burn...
