Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - My brand new bike!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Went to the bike store and test rode their Trek 7100. Asked them to put it on hold for me while I went home and read the forums here about the bike. Drove back and changed my mind. Instead, I bought a Trek 7200.
Next year I do hope to buy a road bike, but this is a good bike to begin with. Here's a picture of the bike after I installed 2 cages, the lights and bike lock:

Here's the Nishiki Bravo. My son rides it now:

Nice ride, congrats! I think there's a good majority of the riders in here who either started on the Trek 7x00 series or are still riding them, they're a great bike. Now make sure to keep the ride reports coming! :)

Got that right. Trek 7300 veteran and 4300 miles on it.

Thanks y'all. I went back to get some more stuff for the bike. Bought a pump, a wedge bag and a computer. The computer is hooked up and ready to go (the LBS set it up for me).
I have the pump mounted but I cannot for the life of me figure out where this wedge bag is supposed to mount! It has a very small strap on one side and a very long strap on the other. If I mount it on the top bar the latch interfers with the cables. Everywhere I try to mount it I just can't get it to stay on there, or it spins around the pole. I suppose it is supposed to mount on the back of the seat post but I have my light and bike lock there.
I think the next time I ride by the LBS I will go inside and ask them.
I'm off to go riding. The most I've ridden is 8 miles on that mountain bike. My goal today is to ride to work and possibly back. If I can't finish it, my wife is on standby for my phone call to come pick me up.

I put 7,000 or so miles on my 7200 before it gave up the ghost:

good weekend for bike shops.
I'd say good spring for shops. Lately, I can hardly get anyone to talk to me or work on my stuff at my LBS. Pretty crazy.
Oh BTW, have fun with your new steed.
