It was a two mile time trial (an out and back).
We started every 30 seconds and I was so mad because I caught up with the guy in front of me right at the turnaround so I had to slow down and coast through the turn so I didn't hit him.
It was my first race ever, so I raced in the cat 4/5.
I placed 21 out of 42 with a time of 4:56:032 for the 2 miles. (Averaging a little over 24 mph).
I know I didn't do great, but I consider this a sucess for it being my first race ever.

On a scale of 42, I'd give you a 21.

If you enjoyed yourself, you did just fine. Great, even.

dont think you were the one that caught me, if you were, sorry, i was seeing stars and almost wrecked at the turn around curb style. i ended up blowing up bad trying to chase down the guy who whipped past me in the turn and at one point in the homestretch was down to about 18 mph. i think i finished 36th or something. my lungs were still burning at midnight.
the crit today was also miserable haha. my pedal was gunked up or something, so i tried stepping into it while it was upside down, three times, at the start. that put me at the back of the field, eventually i fell off as expected (im just not fit enough anymore, training got put wayyy to the side while trying to get through finals and graduate). the course was fun, but extremely windy with the storms blowing in.
circuit race in the morning... hopefully that dries up a bit. congrats though, finishing middle of the pack your first race is great, especially something as specialized as a 2 mile TT.

Were your ears bleeding at the end? If so, you were successful.

fyi, for the circuit race, the 4/5 first lap avg speed was like 28 mph, but slowed down to a crawl on parts in later laps, the wind was pretty bad going up citation.

No it wasn't you. I saw you right before the race, but we were already getting lined up. I noticed your uk kit and your red raleigh.
I was number 180, I think you were quite a bit before me in line. The guy that I was behind was a guy in a red specialized jersey and a pair of mountain bike shorts. He was riding a cross bike. I was really hoping that I would get a guy in front of me that was about my speed so I would really have to work to catch up to him, oh well. It was my first race, I consider it a success.
BTW, jkizzle, how often do you race with the uk team?
