It doesn't have a name yet, but here is my wife's new WizWheelz TerraTrike Cruiser. I had it up on our three-season porch table to add the computer.

Bikes in the back of my truck and a smattering of pics from Connecticut Yankee Peddler in Chariton, IA. The gent in spandex is the proprietor.

Neat looking trike! Looks like the one I saw a guy with a big grin on his face riding today.

I know a guy on the trail that has one. Usually on a bent and he's fast. One day he was on a trike like that. We had a lil friendly competition going on. He'd draft me when I was in front. When he was, I'd try but no draft! Too low!:notamused:

After a while, I couldn't hold the pace so I had to drop off! We were doing about 24 and he made it look easy!

Those low suckers are FAST!:thumb:

Well, I can't ride it. (Boom is too short) She is just working up her conditioning and "bent legs" so it will be a while before she gets any speed.

The tires are the biggest downer and the next upgrade. Wizwheelz puts 40 psi tires (20x1.75) on this beast. If she keeps going with it, I will put some 100 psi 20x1.5s on it.

I didn't ask about the tandem, but it was from organic engines. (Small maker who will do some custom mods.) The owner recommended a custom from them for my weight and x-seam. There are catrikes that I can ride, but I am over their capacity a bit.

Very cool! Tell us how you chose that one over all the others/

Her reasoning on the Cruiser was as follows:

She had a budget set of about 1500$ tops. She rode two ez3's (one SX and one AX) and found them to be "weird." I think she meant a bit unstable, but they did not put a smile on her face.

They happened to have this used Cruiser on sale (1100$) and it had the right size boom for her. She got the smile, felt like she could see very well, and that it was very stable. It is a 21 speed I think. Lowest gear is 17 gear inches.

I've looked around and it's hard to find a better entry level tadpole trike than the cruiser. The sun ez3-sx is cheaper, but its the high sitting delta trike. WizWheelz has a cheaper model, but its a 3 speed internal geared hub.

Most of the rest were outside the budget range. The greenspeeds look awesome, but they start around 2500$. The Catrike that I have ridden (and loved) was around 2500$ as well. These are not cheap as there is no economy of scale.

Did if feel faster than your current bent?

Did if feel faster than your current bent?

Not enough riding to be sure. It was more responsive, but since my bent is pretty long that's not surprising. It felt fast, but when you are 6 inches from the ground, it really skews your perception!
