Does anybody have a suggestion for which type of brake levers to use with V-brakes? I want to use road bars or even bull horns on my fixed touring frame. I bought the Travel Agent already. I tried some old shimano aero road levers but those didn't work well. I don't want to spend much money, if any at all. Thanks for your help.

Hi,
if I understand this correctly, you might want to switch to cantilever brakes. That would allow the use of old brake levers. If you can find them, I recently got a pair of old school NOS Durace brake levers, and I like them a lot. I suspect the althernative is Mtn bike levers.

If you already bought the travel agent, you can practically use any road levers. Most or all Mtb levers won't clamp onto road bars. I just ordered DiaComp 287-V (as in V-brakes) standard aero road levers for use with my V-brake setup. No travel agent required with this combo...

I wonder if top-mount cyclocross levers will work in this situation? I've seen them mounted on the end of homemade aerobars as a primary lever, and I know at least the Paul levers work with V's. Anybody have anything more on this combo?

Cyclocross levers will pull V-brakes. I have CX levers on road bars and bullhorns setup on a couple of my fixies with calipers. They tend to have too much pull when used with calipers though...
