Hey there. I was referred to this site by a bike nut friend of mine after talking to him about how I had just started riding. I got started because I have a short commute that felt silly to drive and now I find myself looking for excuses to ride my bike. I'm looking forward to learning more about cycling and this place seems like a vast resource for that.
I have two bikes at the moment:
A '92 Trek 750 that I've put fenders and a rack on for my commute. I also have an old Dawes Galaxy (serial number is 3469 -- does that mean it's a '69?) that I'm kicking around the idea of fixing up.
I had the 750 "tuned" but the positions in which my shifters leave the derailleurs still cause them to be sort of "in between" where they need to be -- I'll be riding and when I really torque the crank the chain pops into another gear -- VERY annoying.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
