No ride today. Weather was fine but 2 reasons why I did not. One of my neighbours- Who does not ride a bike but it was his son Chris that I took out a couple of weeks ago- Had a surprise Birthday party thrown at him last night. 50 at last but a very good neighbour so it was decided he was going to have a party to remember. I can remember the Cabaret. A Brazilian Dance troop doing their thing- and I can remember taking some pics- but past that-?????????

Woke up this morning with a big headache and the wife reminded me that another friend was coming to set the Plumbing on the new pool. Lots of work had to be done before he arrived- but at 8am there was a knock on the door. Chris had sent his younger sister round to tell me that he was not riding this morning. He had a headache--a 13 year old lad- so if I was you- I would stay off the lemonade- it appears to give you headaches.

Couple of pics from last night and another of the pool- Just so you can see that I did eventually brighten up. Chris still hasn't surfaced though.

Oh And that imperial sizing. The pond we have bought is an American one. We needed some additional connectors so off down to the Plumbing store to get them.

"No chance Mate"--Thats imperial sizing. Haven't stocked those for years".

Why on earth are the Americans so far out of date? The rest of the world is using Metric fittings- Even bikes are using metric nuts and bolts. I had to dig out my old tool kits for spanners as all the Nuts and bolts are Whitworth or BSF thread.

We keep to inches, pounds, and quarts out of respect for our British heritage. Lot of bloody thanks we get!

We use both so that the engineers on one coast can design a part in metric, and the engineers on the other coast can design the matching part in Imperial, and then they get to see if they will meet together while being assembled at the space station.

Makes for a lot of laughs.

Why did you Brits surrender to the French?

"You say tom a toe, I say tom ah toe." "You say po ta toe, I say po tah toe."

From your pictures, it would appear that we can agree on some measurements however.

If it's male threads you have problems matching, that's what they make rubber hose and hose clamps for. Put a short section of hose between two fitings, and then you can get back to using the metric sizes.

They will not be allowed. The Feathers will clog the filter. Mind you- They could always take them off- But I don't fancy walking round with the Blindfold the wife would make me wear.
