I raced yesterday.

There was a team running excellent tactics in the race.

There was a break. They had 2 men in it. They had 3 guys disrupting the flow enough that the peloton wasn't going to catch.

I attacked and bridged to the break. They sat up.

I attacked and flew off with 2 laps to go. Got a good jump and a 50+ yard gap.

It hurt good.

The team employing tactics ran me down on the last 1/2 lap -- several spectators after came up to me and said they thought I had it.

I had to settle for a top 10.

Today, not so good. I woke up with an upset tummy, but since I had pre-registered I tried to race.

I nearly threw up on a guy from Citrus Cycling in the 3rd lap, that's when I pulled myself out.

Here's my HR info for yesterday so you guys can see fancy graphs.

That is all.

Good job, Ken.

Went riding with mikearena today. I see that he joined your team and is coming along nicely.

Nice job!!

Your heart rate graphs never cease to amaze me.

Man, that's pegged.

Too bad you got reeled in so close to glory.

Good luck next race.

It sucks when you're 10 yards from the finish and the field sprinters go flying by you, but hey, no guts, no glory. :D

Mike, the team was a group from Ft. Lauderdale that I'd never seen before (Bicycle Generation). They worked it yesterday in the state championship crit too. They were very disciplined and organized and successfully shut down the top team in the state points series yesterday.

Good work Ken. I think you sig line sums it up.

I'm sorry I missed the race. My daughter was getting confirmed.

Nice job. It's fun when you mix it up. And taking a flyer on a technical course like Saturday's can be a good tactic.

Despite being labelled only a "warm-up" race, I thought Sat.'s race was harder than Sunday's. I spent 36 minutes of my 39 minute race time above LT, and 15 minutes of that at or above 95% max hr.!

So, Sunday, I had nothing left. Legs were good. But couldn't get my hr above LT for more than 5 minutes, total.

Fun weekend of racing.

Bob

Me too. I think my chest would explode and my heart would escape and run away down the road to escape the pain.

Nice job!
