Playmate Igloo lunchbag and Klickfix Basket.

I posted this over on the Dahon forum, but thought folks over here might be interested also. I attached my new Klickfix bracket and basket to my Dahon Curve D3 last night, and today found an insulated Igloo Playmate lunchbag (two compartment, one upper and one lower). The Playmate fits perfectly inside the Klickfix basket. It'll hold 9 cans of beverages, or enough sandwiches and drinks for 4 people. I put a couple ice packs in and my wife and I had ice cold drinks, deli sandwiches, and chips on a ride today in the 100 degree LA heat. The bag also has a carry strap and straps nicely to the back rack leaving the Klickfix basket free for carrying other things. I think I'm going to get another Playmate bag for the back rack. The bag even matches the bike. Here are a few pix:

Nice bike and nice installation. How does it actually hook to the frame? Is a detail picture possible?

Having "survived" up to 112 degrees as a kid growing up in L.A. it would seem that 100 degrees is a good day NOT to ride. Was there any SMOG as there usually is during heat waves?

The sandwiches and cold drinks would be very welcome under those conditions!

Thanks kindly, Foldable Two. The bike head, I think that's what it's called, has a threaded fitting that takes the Klickfix extension bracket. The metal basket clicks right onto the end of the bracket via a fitting that is connected to the basket itself. There is a red button that you can barely make out in the last picture above at the end of the bracket, and pressing this button releases the basket from the bracket. The metal basket has a handle for carrying. There's a close-up of the mechanism at thorusa.com, which is where I got the setup. As you know, one of the great pleasures of life is icey cold drinks when you have a heavy duty thirst on a parchingly hot day. I'm very happy I acquired this little set up.

Wow sotto, you are brave to ride in this heat! Anything above 85-ish and it's back to the hole in the ground for me. :p

ThorUSA has a longer Klickfix extension bracket to mount on the lug for the Dahon Curve. It puts the bag or basket in a little better position than the shorter bracket shown in the Folding Society review.

that is correct I do have the longer more upward brackets ( just like Sottos above )
They make installation of bigger attchments so much easier

What i would really like to find is some of the other Klickfix products... like the ones that attach to the seatpost. Note to self... visit Europe. LOL

Of course, when ordering from overseas, there is the little matter of our currently near-worthless currency (my wife has some friends in town this weekend visiting from Brazil; they had to buy an extra suitcase to hold all the stuff they bought because everything is so cheap here due to the exchange rate).
