For those of you with Pista Concepts and Campy Record Crankset, what BB are you using?

My current setup on my new build is 68x111 Campy Centaur with Record Cranks 165mm. When my pedal is straight back (parallel to the chainstay), it literally is millimeters away from hitting. I cant press the crank arm in and it will hit the chainstay area. This looks extremely close and for some reason, I dont know why its like this. It is a straight Campy setup and its just too close...when I ride, I tap it once in a while with some hard pedaling.

I know I can get a wider spindle or something, but want to know what others are running and if they have this issue.

Help.

the bb you have might be asymmetrical and have the shorter side of the bb on the drive side..

a spacer might work on the bb drive side but if not it doesn't look like you can flip anything around on the centaur bb so you might have to buy a new bb...

I thought it was too...the other side clears as normal...I was thinking of swapping it around, but I dont think its possible with a Campy Centaur.

If, you want good/close chainline, as in 40-42mm, you're screwed. I ran Gipiemme Pista cranks on my Makino
for a while and even the spider was really close. Same problem with my custom. Dura Ace 7710 cleared just fine. The Gipiemme now sit, dirty, in a box:(. Sam

Huh, maybe this is why they used to sell Concepts with Ellipses...

I thought they sold them with Volos too...thats what Im running. This is irritating me...I need to find something to fix this. I hate just looking at the ride and not being able to ride it.

Im going to try the spacer... to fit in the crank arm? Or better yet, where do I space it from?

Sorry, Ive never done this...

these are bottom bracket spacers

put them between the frame and the lip of the bottom bracket's drive side when you are screwing it in..
best place to get one is the lbs - 2-3 mm should do it but if that is not enough you should probably just get a new bb with a longer spindle..

Sweet...Thanks for the help.

I ended up going with a Phil Wood Bottom Bracket and will need to space my Cog I guess too to keep the same chainline.

Ill keep everyone posted if this works.
