Foo - Quantum mechanics and foo...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

okay foo...
Quantum mechanics = makes no sense.
foo = also, no sense makes.
So... since foo appears to be based on basically the same principle as what ever it is that governs the quantum world, I was hoping that 'maybe' some of you could help to explain wtf is going on with the quantum particles being able to know wtf is going on in the world around them - so that they are able to behave accordingly..
Please to help us sort this out - for those of us who need stuff sorted out. okay, thank you so much.

No quantum mechanics actually makes complete sense. I believe Foo is actually based on chaos theory.

A post on foo is like Schrödinger's cat. As long as the post is unread, it is in a superposition of all states ranging from "nonsensical gibberish" to "universal truth".
Once the post is read, the superposition collapses into a definite state -- usually toward the "nonsensical gibberish" end of the spectrum, although everything is possible (if not probable).
Hey, you got your carbon nanotubes in my wormhole again!!!!!

I agree. Nothing about quantum mechanics makes complete sense. :p :p :p :innocent:

Quantam mechanics is God playing a good joke on all the physicists....now you see it, now you don't. Or to name it something a lot of us with kids can understand...peekaboo...peekaboo.:twitchy:

That's for us normal foosters....I know its strange to hear, but we are not scientists.

No, but it would be interesting to revisit former lives.

sorry shadiyah... but this thread is a no eastern/new agey/pseudo-scientific zone. Only discussion of foo and actual quantum craziness allowed. okay.

When do we get to travel through time?I travel through time on a regular basis...at a rate of 3600 seconds per hour.

ah, the ill-fated Schwinn nerd accelerator. Some great minds and crappy bikes were killed in that thing.

It makes perfect sense.
You know what I want?
A quantum paycheck. You know, one that arrives before you even knew it was coming and you don't have to work for it. That would rawk.

How long have you worked at the Quick Fixx Jewelery Repair kiosk?
I work there some times, but other times I find myself at an office creating databases for accountants, other times I find myself mowing grass and gardening, and yet other times I find myself riding a bike. Must be that quantum mechanics thing where its there, but its not really where you are looking for it, and when you find it, its no longer there anymore.

A quantum paycheck. You know, one that arrives before you even knew it was coming and you don't have to work for it. That would rawk.
The problem is you can never know the amount of the paycheck with arbitrary precision. For example, you might know you got a big paycheck, but you won't know if it's big enough to buy a Seven V-II.
Has anyone tried to quantify the Merton effect yet?
