Alright, so I've decided to go abroad next year, and being entirely honest, one of the larger criteria is the locale has to be a great place to bike, all year round (ie no two feet of snow like Boston). Current thoughts at the moment, Australia, New Zealand, England or France...second in the criteria is a night life (and the drinking age is 18 for all...right?). Any suggestions folks?

ARe you planning on going abroad for school, or is this on your own?

Koffee

P.S. Just about every country in the world except the USA has drinking ages at 18, so no need to worry about that! ;)

I would suggest New Zealand or Australia. Apart from great roads, there are great beaches and plenty of sunshine. Brisbane-Queensland would be my first recommendation, sunny, minimum temp of 25ºC all year round, can be humid. Perth-Western Australia is also sunny, but with virtually no humidity. Both are great for cycling, plenty of hills, no mountains. The drinking age is 18.:D

New Zealand has beautiful countryside and plenty of mountains, but will be a bit cooler than Australia.

Both NZ and Australia have a good exchange rate for US visitors.

CHEERS.

I spent two college years in Germany. In Europe, I'd probably go to Italy because you won't have much snow and it will be warmer. Germany was awfully dark and dank all winter long. No wonder those folks can be so cranky! For cycling, however... I'd take Spain, Austrailia, New Zealand...

What will you be doing?

I can give you a pretty good run down of the places in Oz.

Pinky, its good to see that you have your priorities...any college that is not located in an area without good riding and low drinking age is not worth attending! :p
