Anyone else riding this one next Monday?

Anyone else going for the full century?

If I'm in town (a little uncertain right now), I'm going to ride 17 miles to the start, do the 40-mile route, and then ride home.

As posted here previously, my primary goal for the day -- by far -- is to pick a good place for breakfast.

I'll sign up tonight, if there's still space. I did the metric version yesterday and have just slightly tired (not sore) legs. I feel confident about doing the 100 miler, but the stopwatch will be left at home.

anyone know what the course record is, or if there is one, for the century route?

not that i could break it, but it's nice to know sometimes..

We just signed up, but only for the "Traditional 7 Hills" (~38 mile) route. Should be fun! :)

Did you guys do the ride?

I rode there from home, did the 40-mile route, then back home...66 miles in all. Good ride! Well marked, well organized, great cookies at the rest stop.

Capped off a nice weekend of good weather and good rides for me -- I rode out to Maple Valley Saturday, back along May Valley Road....did an in-town loop on Sunday just as a shakedown ride for a vintage bike I got. It's very unusual riding without rain gear; this whole "summer" thing is kind of strange to me.

I rode my first 7 Hills today, and agree with BengeBoy about the experience. We all had a great time from start to finish.

I rode to the event, but was lazy and got a ride home :) 50 miles total for me.

Kasia & I didn't make it today. She has an injury that's keeping her off the bike, and I woke today with a giant headache and a bit of a fever. Maybe next year!

You went out to MV and didn't stop by to see if I'd like to go ;) ? I look out the door on my days off and think--oh man, it looks as if it's going to rain. Then, a couple of hours later, it's gorgeous outside, and off I go on the bike :D .

Oops, sorry. I guess I didn't think of the geography properly....I think of Maple Valley as much further East than where you are.

I am trying to get a friend to do the Auburn - Black Diamond - Green River Gorge - Flaming Geyser SP - Auburn loop with me...we'll let you know.

Oh, that would be splendid! I'd love to do that one if at all possible.

Was the bag piper at the top of Winery hill again this year?

I might have been there a bit early for the piper. I left the start line before 7am.

Yes, he was there when I came up the hill. I started late (8:30-ish).

it was a great ride, cool route. i was on a ciocc with a blue/white Seattle Randonneurs jersey, trying to go fast.

i started at 7:50, finished at 1:30 or so - BUT, i skipped about 15 kilometers of the route on accident! (i was trying to get the route done quickly, and only stopped for 15 minutes total - so when i skipped the first food stop i went straight, but i didn't realize the winery hill was to the left..)

oh well, the 40 km round trip from capitol hill made it a century for the day.

a few pics from the ride:

I'm surprised I didn't notice you based solely on the sonic boom as you went past me!

Started 6:50-ish AM
Finished 3:00-ish PM

mattm- we must have crossed paths as I was finishing the winery loop and you were passing the first food stop. I probably would have remembered being "droped" by you otherwise. The people at the Vincent schoolhouse/Carnation food stop said I was their third customer.
I wanted to get an early enough start so I wouldn't get caught in any crowds descending Juanita and Norway Hills at 35-40 mph. Turns out I was all alone at those points, which was nice.
I was on an old steel frame Davidson, riding solo.
