The crypt of Louis G. Kaufman. He financed the Empire State Building at the height of the Great Depression. My folding Legnano circa 1968 in foreground.

Beyond the Legnano are some of the oldest exposed rocks on earth. 3.6 billion years old.

I took more pics of the bike. The geometry is similar to an R20 but it lacks the stiffness. The seat tube is much shorter. The handlebars loosen with the first few turns of the lever, then the whole steerer goes up and down. Its fun to adjust the pitch of the bars while I'm riding. The bike came with a Pirelli front tire. I eBayed a set of nos 40 year old Uniroyals and installed one on the back. The SA Sportshifter was machined to clamp around the larger top(only) tube. I don't know if this was factory, most Italian bikes of this era had a thumb shifter on the seatpost. The grips are the awful kind that leave ringmarks on your palms so I wear cheap gloves when I ride. Almost every part is branded Legnano, the brake levers, the cranks, the seat, the rims, the front hub, the horn, the rear light, the handlebars etc. It has a Campy seatpost clamp.
