Folding Bikes - Climbing a wall

Here's a picture just before the suffering began. It was pretty tough, but I made it all the way. The total climb is about a mile and there's not much time to rest. My little Air Friday was more than happy to oblige. For the record, I knew I had some climbing ahead of me and so I ditched the buzzsaw chainrings and put on a standard, bottom gear is a 39-23.

About 25 miles!

I don't really know. If you're familiar with the Sea Otter Classic race, this is where it's held. It's a big hill.

I am able to put the same basic fit on this bike that I can put on my road bike. I actually am about 1/2 a cm too far forward, but.....

Anyway, the interesting thing about the Air Friday is that it travels in a suitcase much easier than the Downtube IXFS that it has replaced. It folds, but isn't a folding bike in the sense that the DT, tikit or a Brompton is, but it fits my requirements perfectly.

I bet the ride back DOWN the hill was a blast! :D

I wimped out. I took a different way back down (primarily because I went out of my way to take that hill in the first place). However, off of a different hill I registered 44.8mph on my computer. The bike was rock solid. No hint of anything that would make you worry.
