Hey guys! I have a bit of a bike dilema...
Been using the same old mountain bike since I was 9 -
and I'm definitely ready to upgrade.
Since I'm 19 now and a liiittle cramped. Plus I HATE
dealing with the gears on mountain bikes.

I'm considering getting a street/dirt bmx bike. Something I
can ride mostly on the street, but take out on the weekends
to a track (although I won't be competing).

My price range is terribly low. :( Only around $200 - $300.
Crossing my fingers that I can find a good deal on craigslist.
Does anyone have pointers for buying a used bike?

I was hoping for some recommendations on good brands as well.
Found a 2007 GT Mach One Expert BMX Bike, new for $139.
Last I heard Mongoose had a bad rep, but their 07 Motivator
is only $159. Are those typically decent bikes???

Thank you so much for anything at all you guys can tell me!
I really, really appreciate any help.

If you offered him $250 for that thing, I think his heart would stop. That bike is not worth nearly that much. Are you trying to make this guy lose all of his money and be unhappy too? Lose a few too many QuikPiks from the Lotto?

If its a moto $250 aint bad if he can get it delivered. ive never ridden one however i was just looking for bikes close by in his price range trying to help out. i personally would go with this one: http://norfolk.craigslist.org/bik/686389979.html if you could talk the guy down a little

if you want to ride some street, then dont get a cruiser like a GT. just look on Dans and find something that is in your price range, and also that has some decent parts on it.

If he paid $250 for that bike, the owner might be throwing in some unwanted conveniences, such as a complimentary back massage, shoe shine, or something of the like.

Not yet, still looking.

I was going for a used one but my dad keeps telling me I
need to get a new bike, otherwise I'm wasting my money.

So right now I'm kind of torn. :/
