I am shopping for combo bike trailer/jogging stroller. My main priority is actually for the jogging stroller aspect. If I need to buy 2 separate units I will, but for storage & cost reasons if I can get 1 functional unit I will. I am mainly concearned that some of the reviews that I have read say the push bar while in stroller mode is to low on many of the modals. I am not especially tall (5'-11), but I do run quite a bit at a good pace.

Also, I have 1 daughter, but am considering a dual unit. Any pro/cons?

Thank you, Steven.

I have never used one in the stroller mode but the Chariots seem to have the best setup in the stroller configuration. I base this mostly on the size of the front wheel. It looks to be a 12" rim instead of the grocery cart wheel I have seen on the others.

Unfortunately, REI just had a good sale on the Bob jogging strollers that you can no longer take advantage of if you decide on the individual route. I saw ALOT of them ready for pickup at one of our local stores.

What is this strange thing you call jogging? faster than walking yet slower the bicyceling? I think this idea must be rejected at once.

Some burleys have a reasonable jog setup:

I have the Chariot Cougar 2 with the jogging kit and the bike kit works fantastic and the kids love going for a run or a bike ride w/daddy. The suspension is what drew me to the chariot over the burly but it is a little more expensive.

I'm a Burley owner, but I think the Chariot looks like a better setup for joggers. Never jogged with mine, and I don't have a kit. Just my opinion.

I've got a Chariot for my twins. If you want a dual purpose trailer-jogger, this is the one you want. Takes about 30 seconds to convert: you just snap out the hitch arm and snap in the front wheel. It's getting a little tight for the two of them now that they're 4, but when they were babies then toddlers, we logged many miles. Including half a dozen 5 and 10K races.

It's a bit spendy, but worth it if you use it.

I have a Burley d'lite which works very well for jogging. It has mostly been used as a trailer, but we used it with our twins for jogging a few times. It also works well for a large stroller for the zoo etc, with lots of storage space. The front hand brake works well, but only after a lot of adjustment and lube.

I also had a Burley D'Lite that we frequently used as a jogger and stroller. Low rolling resistance, and the handle could be inserted to provide two different heights. Pretty wide, though. If buying used, make sure to get the latter model with the bigger, inflatable front wheel.
