A recent news article says they have found that ED is a good predictor of heart health in men. That is, if you have ED, you are more likely to have heart failure.

I know there has been a bit of a debate if cycling is good for your love life. The good: it keeps your vascular system in shape. The bad: you spend a lot of time putting pressure on a very important blood vessel.

Now it sounds like the good outweighs the bad. ED is a symtom of a compromized vascular system. The ED treatments just mask this problem.

Mythbuster: If I had to come up with an image that represents my post-tandem rally disposition it would be this one...

That is so true... the harder the ride the better the "disposition"

There's a whole chapter on this in the book Bike for Life (http://www.amazon.com/Bike-Life-How-Ride-100/dp/1569244510)

The evidence is there, but as always, there are some contradictions. I purchased a Specialized alias after reading the reviews and have been happy. Supposedly it's one of the best in terms of "flow."

Currently riding SMP saddles on my single and tandem, however...

ED can be caused by excessive smoking, diabetes, and a number of other causes that go along with a compromised cardio vascular system. If you were to do a study on whether there was a connection between ED and heart disease, I'm sure you could end up with more couch potato smokers than high mileage cyclists.

I'm still sticking with my SMP saddles.

While some folks *may* have issues riding a bicycle saddle, the majority do not.
As for ED . . . got in over a quarter million miles cycling and at age 75, ED has not yet surfaced.

Who is this Ed guy that is reputed to be causing so much trouble and heartache. I get a lot of emails telling me about how to make Mr. Johnson bigger - does Ed have something to do with that, too?

'Ed Johnson' is a famous huckster telling you that bigger is better . . .
So far, am happy with status quo!
