Hi all. Decided to try some road biking and found the site. Wakeboarding is killing my knees, so here we go. My friend gave me his beat up old 92' Trek 1000. I've put about $150 into it so far, just making it road worthy. Tires, tubes, rear deraillur (sp), chain, cranks, bb, grips, seat, computer. Hopefully I'll like riding, and either build up or buy new next year. We'll see.

Hi Mag! Yes, photos, please! We like to think that you will  cycling, and that the next purchase you make will be something like the Trek Madrone!

I'll try to get a picture tomorrow. It was raining today.

Naples is a bit of a hike from North Port. About an hour and fifteen minutes. Otherwise, I would love for somebody that knows what they are doing to look over my bike. It definitely has some quirks, but it'll do until I figure out if a more expensive bike is necessary.

Any ideas on how to get my brakes to open up equally? When I let off the brakes, one side sort of stays put on the rims, and I actually have to move them off with my hands. It's a good time.

Oh, and I weighed it today...21 lbs on the nose. Not too shabby for a 16 year old entry level bike.

BTW...anyone know where I can get a white sticker that just says "BEER" on it? I think I need a decal.

Oh! We were talking about this in Foo. Fuzzbox says there is a mall by her (in Tucson) that makes semi-custom decals.

Only around $10, too.
