Um...... unaccustomed as I am to public speaking.... ;)

Seriously though I'm very pleased to be the assigned moderator for this forum as living as car free as possible is very much a part of my personal philosophy. On those rare occasions when I do have to drive I would much prefer to be bicycling instead as passive sitting behind the wheel plays merry hell with my disability.
I'm very approachable and always willing to help out if I can. This is a good forum and I know that everybody who posts here regularly is interested in keeping it that way. Btw Kaotikgrl, - I don't think anybody here will have to worry about my skills (or lack of them) with Iaido. The ultimate aim of Iaido is to attain the state of 'no sword' where recourse to weapons is entirely unecessary ;)

Yeah but how many heads do you have to whack off before you get to the state of no sword?

Haere mai ...

Welcome! Does this mean our quota of exotic bike photos goes up?

Casting into the outer darkness usually works well for trolls. A spot of wailing and gnashing of teeth by themselves for a week or so can work wonders. :D

Well, this is as good a place as any to ask, I guess.

First, the thread I posted about oil being predicted to reach $200/barrel was moved to politics and religion, apparently on the basis of one question asking what the price of oil has to do with a car-free forum. I should think the answer is obvious, but nevertheless, I posted a reply to answer the question. Then the thread was moved to Politics and Religion, a forum which I would suggest has less relationship to the thread subject than does Car Free Living.

But now I find I'm blocked from posting to that thread at all. What's up with that?

Sorry to baptize you so soon, Sianelle, but I really don't understand the fuss over that thread.

Anyway, congratulations Sianelle. From the trolling I've seen here in the past, you'll have your Iaido cut out for you. :)

I didn't even know we had a Politics and Religion forum :p. In the past, we have had numerous threads related in various ways to oil in the LCF forum. Is there now a new policy regarding these subjects?

Anyways, welcome to Sianelle.

That is a difficult topic grey area re: the price of oil. I might have gone with letting it stay provided there was a linkage of some kind back to how that would influence bicycle use. Unfortunately I wasn't the mod who moved it so I may need to make some enquires as to the why and how in order to find out the thinking behind it.
With P&R you have to send a request in to be allowed to post there which is why you might not be able to access the forum. Personally I look on P&R as being a pit of grass snakes who have dreams of being vipers and I wouldn't advise you to bother with it. Ride your bike, - enjoy life, do something you like doing, - but whatever you do stay away from P&R.

I prefer the friendly feel of Classic & Vintage most of all, with occasional visits here and Advocacy & Safety-- until the same old A&S arguments send me back to the loving warmth of Classic and Vintage.
