Mountain Biking - new bike ideas

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm looking to buy a full suspension mountain bike for trails/cross country.
4" to 5" of travel.
$2000 to spend....any suggestions?

MBA had like a 10pg. article on this. TONS of bikes.
Too many to list. I recommend lots of test rides.
Hmm, why didn't anyone mention the Giant Trance X2
Or maybe a Santa Cruz Superlight?

literally too many to mention. Best bet is to narrow it down some, based on your criteria (brand rep, components, looks, amount of travel, brand of shock, color, favorite LBS, etc). Then you can ask for some feedback on 2 or 3 final models.
The world is your oyster.
What brands do your local stores carry? That's a way to start.

Oh, I thought we were making up new bikes innovations. Mine would fly so that I could ride to Europe and back.

Wasn't that made for the TGMBG so they can float above the trail and get a smoother ride?
