I've had this bike since February or so, but I always wanted to make a tarck bike!! I did the stereotypical DQM x Trackstar look but I can't match colors for **** so I thought black and white could never go wrong.

I got the frame and bars powdercoated and the quality is so-so. And it took 3 weeks and cost $145. I would not recommend the person I used.

The overall bike. Eggbeaters will be removed shortly. Good for longer rides and living in the city but not good for tarcking. I'm sure you can all figure out the parts build so I won't bother. The Axis fork is not integrated but I personally don't find it goofy looking at all.

Holo-foil dragons in their full flight FTW.

Spot on chainline.

Overall I am pleased with the build and am ready to get her all tarcked and scratched. I cannot think of any future upgrades or changes except for possibly gold hubs maybe in the summer. I must say the Thomson parts are top notch and worth every penny. I am proud to have their logo on my bike.

Props to bells bikes and my homes Shawn Hurley at Breakaway bikes for hooking me up with a free, on-the-spot bottom bracket chasing and install.

Not-props to the powdercoater who made many dumb mistakes, including not masking off the headtube bearing races. I had to sand them to get the bearings to fit inside, and the bottom one is still not fully flush. This will require another few hours on the dremel with careful sanding and polishing to get the surface perfect again and I am very, very displeased with that goof. They also hung the bike frame from one of the track end screw holes instead of something logical like hanging it from a spare seatpost, which led me to have to carefully file the damn thing.

Let me know what you think, how much you hate tarck ****, etc, etc. :D

all white bikes creep me out a little in that ghost bike sense, but, that being said -- it looks great. i'm definitely partial to the trackstar & DQM stuff (though urban boutiques are weird).

Thanks to all the comments! Keep the tarcking coming!!

Posner -- I used a random powdercoating dude who advertises his service on the philly craigslist bike section. He actually sends his "partner" to do the work and they borrow equipment from another shop. Compared to the $90 quotes I was getting elsewhere with 3-5 day turnaround, I guess it was an experiment. I am not really happy with his customer service and the headtube issue.

ERabbit - it's a 2008, so it was the horribly ugly black/red/white Track Pro paint scheme.

no spinz yet =[

lose the white tires and white grips and bars. they are just going to get dirty and become an off white with average wear. plus all white bikes look funny.

Not really feelin it myself, but as long as you like it right?

I hope it actually gets ridden and doesn't just pose for pics.

Thanks everyone. I rode it about 50 miles today and got her scratched up pretty well at the skatepark. The rolls is now slightly blue thanks to my jeans, and the white tires/grips are that fun off-white now. But... a bike's a bike.

Don't believe you. Bring it out and prove it! ;)
Everyone on PorkFried will likely chuckle at your expense, Peabody, but secretly I love tarck.

I'd ride that bike with drops or bullhorns.

beating an old dead horse but tomorrow she is going to see nitto rb021s and possibly a computer. switching over from summer leisurely riding to a more serious, tactical approach to prepare for a 34-40 mile commute up to 4 times weekly in the fall. I have since ditched the cheapo Zaffiro for a gatorskin in the back pics to come.
