I placed an order with this outfit, inspired mostly by them apparently having the items I wanted in stock. I placed the order on a Sunday afternoon and requested 2nd day air shipping. I wasn't in that much of a rush, but it wasn't a big difference in price. They charged my debit card right away. On Tuesday I called and asked when they might ship and they said the order was scheduled to go out that day. By Thursday, when I had still not received shipping notification, I called again. This time I was told that one item had been out of stock, but it would ship Friday. No satisfactory answer as to why their website listed all items in stock, or why they told me it would ship Tuesday.
Long story short, the order shipped Tuesday of the following week (after I e-mailed them a cancellation). They put the wrong address on the box, sending it to Boulder, Colorado, instead of Bronx, NY. I received the package Monday, 2 weeks and one day and multiple lies following the order.
Stear clear of this joint.

Same outfit. Bought some "Hudz" (replacement hoods for Campy Ergo),from Amazon via Bike somewhere. Didn't like them. Amazon requested I contact Bike somewhere for a return. They're return policy would not allow for a return because I had lost the zip-lock baggie the product came in. I complained to Amazon. The refunded my $ right away and I got to keep the "Hudz"! Cheers for Amazon. Will never shop at Bikesomewhere again.

Very rarely do I bash a company unless they insult my mother or run over my cat but....

bikesomewhere.com has made me very skeptical about doing business with anyone other than the internet bigBoys. I ordered form them because theyare on the east coast and i needed parts quickly ( and they were a few cents cheaper) . Well the order comfirmation was instantaneous but the shipping notification had not arrived by end of business day so , as prescribed in the website, I emailed--no response !!! I emailed again and pleaded for a simple honest response --nothing. The I googled them and found lots of horror stories about lies and unanswered emails and phone calls that are not returned. Any way , I called them the next day-- you have to keep hanging up on the recorded message and sooner or later they answer and they told me item would ship that day-- it did not. Instead of waiting and wondering when I was going to be treated like the BIG potential customer I am, I canceled on the third day.
they have been in business for about 5 or 6 years so I guess they get people things sooner or later, but I believe they are bordering on fraud-- at least they are sort of scummy

There websist states they ship within 2 days.

I get the feeling these guys are working out of a closet and using third party warehousing suppliers.

Thank you for listening.

let me answer my own question.

Quite simply they are liars, don't have any one to answer phones or eMails and obviously aRE NOT CYCLISTS. Overall they are complete liars and schmucks. I will continue to discourage people via the internet forums I frequent, from shopping with them. Defamation? Hell no. truth is an absolute defense !!!!

I've never even heard of them. And my contacts list has well over 5,000 industry names and shops.

Last year I ordered a Planet Bike SuperFlash tail light from them since they also sold extra mounting brackets. I had no problems at all. Price was reasonable, and I received it about five days later.

I am waiting on receiving an order from this company. I hope it is correct. I tried leaving feedback on "BizRate" but they would not let my comment go through. If you read they reviews at this site, about 30% are bad, but some how Bizrate continues to show them with a good rating.

Anyway, this is the review I wanted to leave:

"I placed my order for items that were either somewhat difficult to find in stock or were wayyy overpriced, elsewhere. Apparently BikeSomeWhere did not have them in stock either, as I completed my online order midway through Tues 12/9, and my items did not ship until Mon 12/15; far past the 1-2 days stated on the website. The shipping confirmation I received today shows my items won’t arrive until the 22nd, which is super unhelpful since my wife will be home all that time while I am supposed to be “secretly” assembling her gift bicycle. I tried to avoid this inconvenience, with multiple unanswered emails, and one phone call where the sales rep assured me that my items would be shipping last Friday, but I guess BikeSomeWhere lacks integrity. I will be surprised if the items I purchased even arrive correct as ordered. If you are in need of products in a timely manner, look elsewhere; if you’re looking for a great deal, it can be found elsewhere as well, and with better customer service."

In all fairness, you should lower your service and shipping expectations for the month of December. That's with any company.

Brian,

I understand what you're saying, but having worked in retail part of my life I learned the customer expects what you tell them to expect, generally. I'm not being hard on these people, they have lied, twice, or at best made promises they can't keep, twice, which is bad business.

Also, keep in mind, my experience is the same as that of many before me, at all times of the year, as seen here: http://www.bizrate.com/ratings_guide/cust_reviews__mid--100378.html.

This company is know to be a bad communicator, and slow shipping, I have only recently found. Unfortunately, it appears to be more of a crap shoot doing business with them. And if they dont even answer my emails when asking what the progress of my order was, how should I expect them to address problems I may have when I actually do receive my order .

I guess what I am trying to say simply is that there are too many other options out there for the equal price and better known service. I chose them so I could get all the items I needed (three) at one place instead of two. I am merely sharing my experience with others so they can form their own opinions and hopefully avoid a smililar experience.

I'm not defending them in any way. Only stating that it's better to have lower expectations this time of year.

It also seems as though many people wait until after they order to do a little research on the seller. Live and learn. In the grand scheme of things, it's no big deal.

You hit the nail on the head here. I should have researched them a bit more before giving them my credit card info, so it's certainly my bad there. That's why I'm posting my experience here, in hopes of adding to the info out there regarding this retailer.

Worst ever online experience! I shop online every week with never a glitch. I placed an order with these guys. They debited my account within 2 minutes of the order being placed and sent me an email saying that I would be notified when my order was shipped. After three days I called them to ask when I might expect shipment, but I got a recording instructing me to send an email for the quickest response. Three days pass with no reply, so I call again and leave a voice message and send a second email. Three days later with no reply, I read on;line reviews and get nervous so I leave another voice message and send another email. Still no reply so I go to PayPal and file a dispute asking for a refund. Within 2 minutes I get a refund. But these cheating a-holes try to nick me for a $0.62 "adjustment fee". So I file a second dispute with PayPal because I don't think that PayPal wants its customers to be penalized for using there service when a seller cannot perform. A day later I get my $0.62 thanks to PayPal. Imagine, if you can, that you are running a scam where you don't ever have to stock anything, but you take money from people who are trusting enough to order from you and when you can't deliver they ask for a refund but you keep a small portion of the purchase price as an "adjustment." That is BikeSomeWhere.com, Bernie Madoff would be proud.

DON'T GO NEAR THESE GUYS!

"Worst online purchase ever! After waiting over two days for Bikesomewhere to process my "expedited" order, for which I'd paid 2nd day air, I reluctantly decided to cancel my order. I arrived at this decision after leaving six emails and voicemails, all inquiring about when I would receive shipment confirmation. Sure, I received responses to the emails (not the voicemails), but they merely stated they'd received my emails and were doing everything they could and yada yada ... In other words, they read like they were automated, but not quite. "Mila" was the name of the drone who sent me the emails.

As I write this, the last email that I received from Bikesomewhere indicated that they had issued a refund and that it is in my Paypal account. The email even went so far as to instruct me to check my Paypal account and then transfer the refund to another account of my choice (wierd, huh?). Well, guess what . . . THE MONEY BIKESOMEWHERE SAID IT REFUNDED HAS NOT BEEN REFUNDED!!!

I feel like I've been mugged. The only recourse I have is to open a dispute through Paypal and keep my fingers crossed that I get my $160 back sometime within the next millennium.

I would be interested in finding out if they accept charges on all customer orders before the orders leave their facility or if that's just a nuanced and "standard" procedure when paying with Paypal. If the former is their normal practice, I think it might be illegal. Obviously, it would be legal for a retailer to request an "authrorization" from a bank for payment, before an item has actually shipped; once the item ships, the authorization could then be turned into an actual payment because it had then been "earned". Something tells me it might be worthwhile to verify whether or not BikeNOwhere is doing this. If it is not, contact the Better Business Bureau.

This transaction has been especially infuriating because the item that I needed is keeping me from taking a tour that I have been planning for over a year in the Black Hills region of South Dakota. Shame on Bikesomewhere!"

Hey, so did you get a refund through PayPal in the end?
I just purchased some shoes from them via their Amazon store and already felt something was not right so did a google search on them.
I emailed them to cancel my order as it was just idle there for days and they then straight away changed it to being shipped but theres still no tracking number associated to it so I think they may of just been covering their @ss.
Cause now I cannot apparently get a refund unless I send item back to them if it ever arrives.
I know these are still early days but I fear the worst...
See what happens as heaps of people seem to write positive experiences with them.
cheers 4 the info fellas
