I am not one to set many goals. I've taken off any computer that counts mileage or distance on my bikes because I don't want to be bothered. I know my routes and I know they are anywhere from 20-37 mile loops so why bother?

Last year I got back onto my bikes after a 5 year lay-off. I had burned myself out and allowed life to happen. After the death of my Father in Law at age 74, I decided that I needed to get back after myself and DO something.

I have a fair diet. Eat well but too much. I started back into riding at 275 and lost 25 lbs last summer. I gained back 15 lbs over the Winter, which I was okay with.

So far this year, I'm down to 240 this morning after 2 months of being back on the bike. No diet changes except for watching my fat intake and switching from Fries to either a fruit cup or a baked potato.

I've been working exclusively with a Heart Rate monitor. I try to ride at least one hour at least 3 times a week. I also try and maintain my HR at 85% of my max and that seems to be helping my fat burn.

It will be interesting when the Summer gets here and the temp and humidity rise. I sweat profusely and I'll have to keep tabs on my water intake and my electrolytes too.

If I have any goals this year, they would be:

1) Lose 25 more lbs
2) Do a long tour/tent camping ride (60-100 miles)
3) Get off of my Blood Pressure Meds.
4) Consider a new Road Bike... (naw! LOL!)
