Hi everybody. I'm looking to get into mountainbiking an was hoping to get some advice from somebody who knows about bikes. I ride BMX and road bikes already so I've got a basic understanding of bike parts but though it'd be best to see what you guys think. I'm looking to get a hardtail for about £300-£400.

What do you sugest?

Thanks

Step 1: Don't listen to lacrosse players.
Step 2: Check out your local shop and see what they have.

Wow, they're getting $600-$800 for the Trek 4300 and Hardrock?

#1 I like specialized

#2 Specialized hardrock is a great starting point for any MTB in my opinion.

#3 If he doesnt like the hardrock then he can look at the rest of the goods on specialized.com and find something he does like.

bah, i wasnt payin attention to exchange rate when i said hardrock but even so, 700-800 is not a lot when it comes to buying a new bike, i would advise on buying gently used, or increasing the budget if possible (if he wants new)
