Anybody doing the Urban Assault Ride (http://www.urbanassaultride.com/inside.php?page=portland) in Portland this weekend? Anybody do the one in Seattle last weekend?

I'll be one of the volunteers at the Sunny Side School Park. Bike Limbo there (I think). Lets hope the weather gods keep the weather reasonable.

Bike Limbo, huh? I can't wait for this ride. I sounds like it's going to be a blast. Thanks for volunteering. :thumb:

Somebody I know did it in Seattle Sunday. Said it was a *great* time. Have fun!

It was an absolute blast. The rain started about 10 minutes into the race and continued until the finish, but of course what would Portland Urban Assault be without rain? I'm plotting how I can travel to one of the other cities to do it again. :)

I finished in 2:54, six minutes ahead of the theoretical course closing. On the plus side, I did really well on the qualifying quiz (81%) so I got to start in the first wave. It was all downhill from there!

I didn't take a camera. I would post pictures anyway, but apparently they're copyrighted. If you want to see the pictures taken by the organizers, you can click here: http://urbanassaultride.com//inside.php?page=resultsandphotos. I expect a few highlight pictures on their blog (http://urbanassaultride.blogspot.com) within a couple of days.

That was a blast. :) Next year I will register in time to take the quiz so I can get a better starting position, and hopefully my team-mate's knee will be in a little better shape.

Bike Limbo was NOT my stellar event. Egg beaters are perhaps not the ideal pedal, and taking off the messenger bag first would have helped. Not crashing would be the best improvement in this event.

But, my team is already working on strategy for next year.

Bike limbo was tougher than it looked. I got my head under the bar at the lowest level but kept hitting it with my back. After my last try, it finally dawned on me that I should have lowered my seat.
