Okay, fine. I'll post it again. I didn't like the pic so I took it off.
But yeah. Now my snake has a friend again! :) My other corn passed away after 22 years. And this one was sad. :(

Very handsome! Did you let the critter off into the wild someone nice?
We got to see a PNW garter snake the day before yesterday--he was absolutely stunning, with turquoise blue stripes.

My brother has my old brown corn snake, he's about 20 years old. They are quite hardy. My orange corn snake was more finicky, didn't seem as hardy. He only lasted about 10 years, but I have to admit it was my fault he kicked the bucket.
Gotta like a girl who is cool with snakes
Sssssnakes coooooool! I'd scan a couple of pics of my old snake, Caesar (10-1/2' boa) but all my #@$^&@ are in storage. :(

Yeah - even worse when it's a female and you're still quite sure and so ....
Pretty orangy gurl you have there!
I soooo want to expand out into a definite leopard gecko plus a SMALL snake (none of these rabbit eaters and bucket sized poopers). cannot do this at the moment in my cathouse. My poor 5 fishies that became funtime playtoys to the nasty effin cat in the house has curtailed my purchases at the moment. Don't trust the mf to not come in here, hide and demolish everything I luv. Oh and leave a big ole runny poo in the middle of the rug. SOB cat. It is NOT welcome in my room whereas my cat and the other 3 are allowed in. Not that THING. Grr

He seems to be very docile. Not afraid or anything. I've checked him for mites and he's clean. He's also very healthy. I bet he was someone's pet. I'll have to post a "found" sign in the neighborhood.

hehe - those are the little ones - that's one of their protection mechanisms. Now try and go clean up after a 10' snake - that ... that leaves something that even when she did it outside (cause you rather know when it may happen) and you have some bystanders there who exclaim "OMG It's bigger than a dog's!!!!!" and other people turn away holding their nose - and just think when IT happened inside the cage, located in the house - now it was a true test of a good relationship - as one person stood there with a spatula aka poo shovel and the conversation was ... "I did it last time - it's your turn." Made ya gag. Loved her dearly, but oh man that once a month poo killed me. <shudder>

22 years is a really good run for a corn snake. I believe the life expectancy is like 15-20 years.
In related news, my friend recently smashed a snake with a broom after it slithered into his house.

Like Indiana Jones, I do NOT like snakes. No No No No.
Indiana: There's a big snake in the plane, Jock.
Jock: Oh, that's just my pet snake Reggie.
Indiana: I hate snakes, Jock. I hate 'em.
Jock: C'mon, show a little backbone, will ya?
[Upon opening the Well of the Souls and peering down into it]
Sallah: Indy, why does the floor move?
Indiana: Give me your torch.
[Sallah does, and Indy drops it in]
Indiana: Snakes. Why'd it have to be snakes?
Sallah: Asps. Very dangerous. You go first.

Why? It's not like the snake was going to hurt him was it? Why couldn't he just shoo it out? :(

A very handsome snake. The only ones we have around here that look interesting like that are rattlesnakes, and those are generally best left alone. :p Years ago, I saw a MASSIVE snake in the river here chasing (and catching) a muskrat. I have no idea what it was, and I've never seen another snake in the wild that large. I have seen a rattlesnake in the wild that was about six feet long, but my friend's dad killed it with a rock. :(
P.S. I don't have a problem with snakes but spiders give me the creeps! Seems like most people who hate snakes don't mind spiders, and most who hate spiders don't mind snakes. Weird.

Hey guys... that pretty young lady with the snake is my little foo sister.
I have to agree that aside from the pickup, and not that Shorty isn't a good looking and reasonably efficient rig, Siu is pretty perfect.
The line forms to the left and I will need to see references...
:D
Cool! I never caught a wild corn snake, though as a kid I did once catch a mud turtle who was so busy eating a dead corn snake that he never saw me moving in to grab him. (Not sure it was a corn snake, but if not, it was close, according to my snake book at the time.) I did manage to catch lots of garter snakes and water snakes, and a really nice hognose. I usually let them loose after a short visit. I miss living in the semi-countryside. I need to learn more about corn snakes; maybe I will try one as a pet someday.
once, when mowing the lawn on a sit down mower, i ran over a garter snake.
i can still remember, in vivid detail, how that snake writhed about, with it's head 2 yards to my left, and it's body 1.5 yards behind me.
good times.
