Seen it. One of the managers at my family's business had it happen - I've known him as long as I've known anyone - used to be in the 350lb range or so. About four or five years back, he dropped a lot of weight. And then he got served with divorce papers.
Perhaps...his wife had two children somewhat recently and he had gotten a promotion to manager. It's possible she realized she was getting the crappy end of the stick in the deal. To be frank, as there's a good possibility she wasn't at work and wasn't able to curry time in whatever industry she might've been in. I know he was doing full-time, so she was likely stuck at home. With a divorce from him, she'd be getting child support (likely) and the ability to get back into industry and start advancing her career.
