Who's riding this weekend in the Duluth Classic?
Looking forward to getting whooped! :)
If anyone wants a ride from the Twin Cities, I'm happy to do so in return for some gas money. Posted on the MCF board but no one's biting. PM me.

No camping here... got a hotel room.... but may end up with a host if I can cancel my reservation.
It'll be my first TT, too. Just me and my bike, no TT gear. Doh!
I'll be there as well. First time trial as well as stage race. The TT will be interesting, I also don't have any TT gear so we'll be winging it I guess. The RR's should be fun though, I'm really looking forward to those.

Surprised myself... I planned to peak for this race and ended up doing well! 7th out of 18 in the TT without aero bars, 2nd in Saturday's RR, 3rd in Sunday's RR, and 2nd today in the crit... and 2nd in GC!
We all got massacred by the guy who swept all four events, though. He's super strong, should probably be a 3 (he has the skills and the strength), has tried to cat up, but his region's folks are making him do 10 races. But I have to say it was really cool to have someone so strong kicking our butts. Made me race better.
What a great event. Definitely going back next year!

Agreed, it was a really fun weekend. Got second overall and in the TT, and RR's, and first in the crit. Now I can move up to Cat 4... my times in the TT's are good enough so I might do it.

Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade by the time classes start in the fall.

Nice job Robobo1 and Youngin. Glad to have you younger guys racing and having fun!
You can continue to call me Mr. top ten. I came in 5th in the GC for my category. "Sigh" someday :bang:
This stage race was well set up and run. I hope it continues to grow.

Which cat?
And yeah, this stage race was a blast. I'm definitely doing it next year. Lakewood is a great course.

The pics I've been given are all taken at the start line of each stage. No action shots unfortunately.

blessedhellride you were racing against a bunch of guys from my team, Ace Hardware. I was there too but in a different cat.

Duluth Classic was great; very well run. Robobo1 is very fast as well. We were in the same Cat together, he and the first place winner definetly made the field work hard. Nice work and nice riding with you. I might have some pics and possibly a video of the cat 5 crit.

Thanks Medic! I'd love to see those pics... and especially a video.
Which rider were you? What kit?
You know, I have to say it's really cool to race against the same group of folks for a few days in a row. Though we didn't all get to know each other off the course necessarily, it was fun to get comfortable and joke around. "Remember Dad, even if you get last you're still number 17! Ooops, make that 18!" That stuff wouldn't happen at a normal race.
I'm definitely doing this again next year.

Spring Street Sports (blue, red & white) number 615, 9th overall. I agree it was nice riding with the same field over several days. The cat 5 officials car we were worried may roll backwards on the steep hill.

Sweet video of the Lakewood Race. I would have to say that was my favorite of the weekend, even though it was very tough, the hilltop finish made for a sweet end to the race.

Your teammates raced a good race. They seemed like a good group of guys.
You can tell them I am still mad that they chased down the break I was in during the Lakewood RR. :p
That break should have stuck. We had 6 guys and reps from all of the big teams. Your team had a guy they didn't want in the break so they chased it down even thought their own man was in it. No disrespect to your teammate in our break, but I could tell he was barely hanging on. We would have been better off dropping him instead of trying to keep all of us together.
My wife took a ton of pics over the weekend. When I get more time I will try to post a few.
