View Full Version : So some big dummies don't have an arched TT?

I'm thinking of getting a 16" big dummy. The picture on Jenson's site shows a BD with a straight TT

All other BD's I see here have an arched top tube. I would much prefer the straight.

That is strange. I think the earlier prototypes had a straight top tube. I think Jenson had the pics up way before the bikes were available so they still may be using old pictures. I'd shoot an email off to surly to see what the story is.

From looking the surly specs I think the 22 Inch frame might have a strait top tube but I'm not sure. The sloped top tube is nice on a utility bike because mounting a loaded bike can be tricky and the curve gives you about 1.5 inches of space you wouldn't have on a strait tube. What don't you like about it?

The pic is of a prototype frame. All the production frames so far have been military green only.

Just to confirm what others have said... the prototypes had straight top tubes.

ALL of the production models (including the 22", which I own) have curved ones.
