Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Where to get a frame.. i'm a little frustrated with all my LBS's

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
First thread on here, just a little background. I'm located in a small-ish southern town, moved from utah, where being outdoors was what you do. All the LBS here sell off brands and go "Fixie whaaat?"
I want to get a more modern frame, maybe a specialized langster or IRO. I'm really not into the hipster style which is essentially non-existent where i live. I would like to get a hold of a frame and hand pick the parts, build and riiiide.
What do you guys think my options are if my LBS blow? Have any website suggestions?

Just about any LBS can order any Surly you want. If they say they can't, ask them if they can order through the QBP catalog. Surly is available through that catalog.

IRO (http://shop.irocycle.com/shop/pages.php?pageid=7) build your bike site.
Bikes direct (http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/road_bikes.htm) scroll down to the bottom of the page ss/track, choose a bike, ride it hard, replace the parts as needed with what you want once you figure it out.
You can check out this thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=225713&highlight=budget)as well, by now should cover ever possible bike and build up possibilities.

what about a frame from bike island?
+1
I was planning on getting one of those.* It's an unbranded Kilo TT frame, priced at 199, free shipping. Plenty good, comes in a few colors, etc.
* I say "was planning" because I opted not to voluntarily become part of the consumer machine by buying something new and hence increasing the demand for the production of more stuff, and instead found a used track frame locally from a private seller.

I seriously hope you are being sarcastic..you probably just found a better deal
it's so he can feel better about denying yellow asian people jobs and instead giving someone right here in america a few dozen more fast food trips and car payments and maybe even some dental work.
"so plead the fifth cuz you can't plead the first. can't waste the day when the night brings a hearse. so now i'm rolling down rodeo with a shotgun. these people ain't seen a brown skinned man since their grandparents bought one."

haha, first RATM quote ive seen on here...not sure its the right quote for this thread though.
not for the thread, no. just trying to highlight my counter-argument of racism being the driving force behind the anti-consumerism idea that just happened to occur when other countries started to get powerful, and not before.

raid the local bike rack with a pair of boltcutters?
you can concentrate on the AZN bikes if you want. or the new ones, or the old ones.
the choice is yours, grasshopper. make the right one.
