Is there a road bike club in Sheboygan Wisconsin? I've inquiered at bike shops and searched the net. Haven't found anything. If there isn't, I'd be interested in forming one. The sixty four thousand dollar question, is there anybody else interested or am I the only one? I did the Maywood century this year. There was six hundred and fifty riders in attendance. Of course there are riders from out of the area, but theres got to be alot of locals who join in on this event. So, roadies from Sheboygan, what do you think? Should we form a club and do training rides or what? :D

I don't know of any formal 'bike clubs' in the area, but there are some hardcore bikers. I can't call myself totally hardcore, but I did make 1200 mi during the nice weather this year.

I was a group of about 20 riders this past saturday and I have not found out where they were from / going to. They were about 1/2 mi from my house but I was in the middle of an errend and could not stop. There are several groups I go with in the summer, one is pretty slow but we make about 30 miles on sunday afternoons.

There are also some harder-core groups on saturdays & week nites. Sat at 8am one group meets behind the SF armory/police station and does about 40 mi (including breakfast) before noon. They are a bit fast for me, mostly racers, a couple are Cat2 or Cat1's. There is another group that meets in Sheboygan & does the breakfast ride a bit slower. I don't know if they ride in the winter.

On tuesday & wed evenings groups meet at the sports core and do some fast rides. One of these is faster than the sat AM fast ride, supposed to be quite severe. Several in the group that I could hardly keep up with complained they got dropped in the first couple miles of one of those nite rides - the other nite is slower. I think these stopped for the winter but I can check if you are a cold wx rider.

Man it is cold tonite, down to 10F here now.

Let me know if you want more info or are looking to do some rides. I might be done until next spring if this keeps up.
