Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - is there any advantage

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The advantage is you'll never have to explain to someone that you're mentally handicapped... They'll just know.
super super tight. the advantage is super easy wheelies/turns tighter than a 9 year old.

He's going for a lugged steel version of that.
Can't say I'm real hip on his paint job either.

I love lugs... but that bike makes me love them less. I understand the desire for a certain geometry, but that vertical bar isn't very attractive either.
i have an overwhelming urge to punch that bicycle.
ps, that build is corny as ****, from the carbon spacers all the way down to the wheel choice. what a clueless ******...
abeyance

That style is an old one, designed to shorten up the wheelbase considerably. One of the posters above got it right when he showed one of the newer Cervelos.
It was used on time trial bikes in England in the 1960's. At least that's the only time I've seen it. It basically replicates the curved seat tubes we saw on the KHS;s of a few years back, although with considerably more tubes.
I for one, like the bike, even though the pinstriping on the lugs is horribly uneven.

Obviously the guy had some extra lugs and tubing, and a lot of extra time on his hands.
Build your own

The worst thing about that build is that the guy can't make up his mind if he wants to be vintage(framedesign, lugwork, sadle) or modern(cockpit, clipless, tires) and the combination is just a mess.

its not too hard to make vintage and modern work well together. its more showy/ostentatious topped off with a fatty serving of bland thats killing that bike...

Wow, that's what I was going to say.

Looks like the welding jig fell over while welding the frame and got ****ed. So he said screw it and just started welding random tubes on it.
