Summer is almost here, and if I pass math(which i've been working hard at) I get to put togeter a new rear wheel.
I'm currently riding a Odyssey Hazard hub (v2) that is blowing up.
And a Sun Big City Light.
I want a long lasting wheel, considering how expensive they are. I'm not quite sure how much I can spend.
So,what should i get?
I like the Ashley but no one sells it,and I like profile.

Rim, Alienation or 7ka maybe?
:twitchy: Help.

Primo mix cassette, lasted me 2 1/2 years
sun big city rim, still going after 3 years, straight as ever
dt swiss spokes
do not get a primo rim for the rear

I'd have to say Profile Mini(in red!) SS, 7KA, with DT Swiss. Exactly what bmx2478 said, but the SS hub.

Have you had a bad experience with balance rims?
Mine has been pretty good so far.

I've got a Profile, and i'd recommend it highly. Especially after murdering 3 Shadow drivers and an Odyssey hub.
Alot of people like DT spokes. They seem pretty nice, i've got them on my back wheel.
Your local shop can probably get them, along with Empire, if you're more into mailorders.

I was wondering the same thing, L4M. I know everyone recommends them, but I didn't know where to get 'em at.

I'm not too hard about the DT's, I think ill just go Primo and buy extras.

Yeah, all of the Profile hubs make cool noises, especially the Mini.

I heard the Madera hubs are the uber-cool versions of the Profile ones...
Especially the dexter.
But only the cool kids know about it.

Haha funny you say that, because it sort of, well, ate itself this morning.
Yeah, really ironic.
I'm going to take it to my mate at my lbs and see if he can save it.

That wheel is really nice. I'm jealous. And what's wrong with alloy nipples?
FuzzyRyder

I don't understand how they wouldn't hold up to the stress or whatever you're talking about.

7ka only comes in black currently, and I like brakes.
bmx2478
06-12-08, 05:17 PM
Well if you knew anything about anything, which apparently you don't, you would know that black rims will brake just as well as chrome, if you know how to tune them properly.
live4muzic2
06-12-08, 05:17 PM
EVENTUALLY, it will were down the color to silver.
bmx2478
06-12-08, 05:20 PM
So.
It wouldn't bother me.
But I guess it's more about how your bike looks, then how you ride it these days.
live4muzic2
06-12-08, 05:23 PM
actually, I chose the hub for strength, why I got a 10 tooth. yes, that is weak, but 9 is weaker. It also weighs more.
FuzzyRyder
06-12-08, 05:50 PM
acctually chrome will brake better, always.

06-12-08, 06:31 PM
Always at park, not in the streets
or dirt
FuzzyRyder
06-12-08, 06:43 PM
it will still be better then black.

06-13-08, 12:54 AM
If you have good brakes, good pads and can tune brakes well, you won't notice the difference.
