If some of you did not know, John Cuchessi owner and founder of San Clemente Cyclery passed away last Sunday from an apparent heart attack suffered while on the Sunday Market Ride. I have been given the following information (bottom) regarding the service for those of you who would like to attend. Also there will be a Memorial ride (Market Ride) this Sunday, May 25th leaving from his shop (San Clemente Cyclery , 2801 S. El Camino Real San Clemente, CA 92672 949-492-8890) at 8:45 AM going South thru the usual route thru Pendleton and returning the opposite way. There should be a big turnout. If you are not racing, this should be a great ride. I personally did not know John well, we only exchanged quick hello’s and occasionally had small bike talk Tuesday nights before leaving his shop for the Tuesday night south ride. He was always very nice to me and as I have learned more about him this past week, has played a major part in his community and with the development of cyclists in our area. We can take some comfort in knowing he passed away doing what he loved, not alone but surrounded by friends. He will be deeply missed. The Veloce Club extends our deepest regards to the Cuchessi family, and his many close friends.
