Bought a few movies after my (first and longest) 145 miles ride on Sunday. Nothing too special, just a few on the $10 rack at Duane Reade.

Yes indeedy. Purchased a set of Cane Creek track wheels:
http://www.canecreek.com/images/zooms/wheels/zoom/Volos-Trk-Tube_R.html

then purchased two Continental Podium slick tyres and glued them on reeeel good.
slapped on a 15 tooth cog and proceeded to harass the local motorists.

Had to pull off the slicks tho cause at 60 USD a pop they are best suited for clean
track surfaces and not local roadways..

I've decided not to stress out over work anymore.

It's not that I don't care, it's just that lately they've cut back so much on the labor (we are minus four people) that we are struggling and RUSHING to do things. It's becoming to where we are taking shortcuts to get things done and that's not right. It's also dangerous since we work with heavy machinery.

So I decided to just do the best I can, safely - and if it doesn't get done, it doesn't get done. Maybe they will give us more help. They know the quality of my work so they can't say that I've been fooling around. It's just plain reality. We can't get it done. Period.

I've felt a lot less worried and stressed out because of this change in attitude. :)

The more you show that they won't need the extra help the more likely they won't hire any.

I've been working on a brochure of every single service our shop offers, how much each costs and policies pertaining to service.

Sure, it's mostly to benefit customers but it's also to benefit me as I won't have to answer near as many questions...I can just hand them a brochure.

I was going for a simple look, all black and white for low cost and simplicity, sort of like a taqueria menu...so far it looks pretty cool.

Do not forget to tell them RTFM.:D This will weed out the easily offended picky customers and only leave you with the ones worth keeping.

Sounds like you created a solution that could replace you. I tend to create problems at work that only I can fix. I'm a hero.

Naw, someone still has to perform the work...now it's just less of my time taken up answering questions like, (Customer watching me working on a bike in front of a wall of bike tools)"Do you work on bikes?"

This is why handguns were invented. If you take the time to get a rifle, the customer has more time to dodge.

Yeah. I've decided not to stress out about the running races I do, but enjoy them, and not freak out over how much I train, as long as I train enough to finish respectably.

Oh, and I got divorced from the b!tch that ruined my life for the better part of a decade. :D

Regarding the OP querry: You mean besides taking my health seriously in my middle years by frequently riding my bike on challenging rides, losing 10 lbs, lowering my resting heart rate by 10 bpm in less than a year and rocking up my legs to the point where I get compliments from strangers? I can't think of anything nicer, with the possible exception that I bought a new bike 2 months ago. That was really nice!

I decided to rent a D80 for a week.

I think i might sort of, kind of, partially somewhat deserve it! a little.

I found a place that will rent one to me for 60-80 for a week. :p

What's a D80? In my experience, this would be an 80 sided dice - but I couldn't imagine it costing that much to rent. :p

Bought myself a pretty little mid-70s Mercier converted over to a fixie :) It's perfect for polo and my around town rides, and I finally have a bike I can lock up outside and not be worried about! My other 2 are worth over $1,500-$2,000 each so it's nice to finally be able to bike where ever I want to go and not have to worry about my bike!

Zorro - All that came to mind for me was an 80 sided die as well, that thing would be huge!

I haven't been feeling too well lately, I think it's the insomnia getting to me. I forced myself to go ride the bike in this blustery wind...sort of a discipline thing. I've been trying to ride every day in the evening but I just wanted to lay down and sleep.

I'm glad I did it. If I didn't I think I would be disappointed in myself.

I have been tweaking the white bikes... I built up new wheels for the road bike, got some bling for the tourer, and got a snappy new mountain bike after selling my old one.

She's even faster than she was... which is good 'cause I'm slower.

I went swimming last night & rode to work today. My body thanks me.

Not yet but REI's got a big sale this weekend. The Basecamp 6 (tent) has been calling me for awhile now. At 30% off plus my dividend I think I'll get it.
